| Overflowing Net

Fresno 2010
I just got home from the best time I have ever had in prison. I know my teammates in Fresno share this feeling, because I have never seen so many teammates so tired checking out Sunday morning. There was a tremendous amount of energy that weekend and it drained us all. But I had one particular experience that really stood out for me. We all know in Luke, Chapter 5, how Jesus told Simon to cast his nets in deep water, and the nets became so full they overflowed. That same thing happened to me Saturday morning on "A Yard" at Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla, CA. After Tino Wallenda's performance, God told me to "Cast my nets" over by some bushes, and He brought the fish into my nets. I took a group of approximately 5 or 6 ladies over and sat down on the grass and began going through "What do you think ?" A few more joined us, then a few more. By the time we prayed the Sinner's Prayer, there were about a dozen. Others had come along as we were finishing up and wanted to do it also, so we started over again, then more joined and by the time our hour was up we had prayed the prayer three times, and my sheet was so full, I had to add space to fit all the names. Twenty-two ladies in all prayed to have Christ enter their hearts as their Lord and Savior. Six were first time salvations. All while I sat in one place on the grass by those bushes, and it would have continued had they not recalled the yard.
The weekend was capped off when, as we were turning onto the freeway heading home, I noticed by the time that my wife was now in church worshipping back home, and I was beginning a beautiful 150 mile motorcycle ride home on a gorgeous day which the Lord had specially prepared for us, with "Lifesong" by Casting Crowns blasting from the stereo of my Harley. What a fitting conclusion to a wonderful week-end. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.
