One Pastor's Experience

One man caught my heart at the Tulare Men's Correctional Facility. He was a raspy looking middle aged man beat up by a wayward life. After he lifted his head from the sinner’s prayer with the others, tears welled up as he asked where I pastored. He seemed desperate to know so I gave him the address and worship time. He soundly stated, “I’ll be there”. Since it was a county facility I asked him how many months till release. He replied, “Six years”. He then humbly thanked me as he backed up.

It was as if all he had to hold on to for six years was knowing there was a person who respected and cared enough about him to turn him on to the Creator of the universe.
