Kenny Munds
Kenny Munds was former lead vocalist for BRUSH ARBOR, recipient of two Academy of Country Music Awards. With Brush Arbor, he appeared on the Grand Ole Opry and opened shows for such country music legends as Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, Marty Robbins and Merle Haggard. With this success, Kenny began to engage in drinking and drugging. This eventually cost him his membership in the band. Having lost everything to his own stubborn will, Kenny struggled for nearly 20 years to find contentment. Finally, on February 7, 1990, Kenny surrendered to a rehabilitation program in California, spending over 2 years learning how to stay clean and sober through the 12 steps of AA. In 1994, he renewed his commitment to Jesus and began attending church again where he became a worship leader. In 1998, Kenny was invited to minister in a California prison. This experience ignited a calling that has produced Kenny Munds Ministries. Using the format of Celebrate Recovery, (a Christian 12-step program birthed from Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church), Kenny now ministers in jails and prisons locally in Arizona and nationwide as a Platform Guest with Bill Glass Champions For Life.
