Steve would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the dedicated members of the Champions for Life team that he had the pleasure of working with over the past twenty years.  Little did he know on the chilly evening at the Perry Georgia High School football stadium in 1988 that he had begun a journey as well as a partnership that would affect his own walk with Christ as well exposing him to thousands of teammates, inmates and young people.  After that first City-Wide event, Steve and Mary Lu began to become more and more involved with Champions for Life ministries, eventually becoming Coordinators, leading teams into prisons here and abroad.  Steve served faithfully for fifteen years on the board, ultimately as the Chairman for twelve years.  The experiences that came out of that time not only enriched Steve and Mary Lu, but also was a positive experience for their children, who were able to attend many weekends exposing them to strong Christian men and women.
