Waukegan, IL DOC Thank You Letter
June 23rd, 2008
Thank you for your faithful attendance and sharing your faith with inmates at the Lake County Jail in Waukegan, IL on March 29. The Lord blessed both the “workers in the harvest field and the officers and inmates with His holy Word and presence.
The jail officials were most pleased (they are all Christians) and have invited us back next year. Three local newspapers covered the event before, during, and after the occurrence. It is always special to go into a jail for the first time and this one was no exception.
There were 650 inmates and 168 decisions for Christ. Since programs were in the Pod units and each speaker was in 2 units, all inmates heard the Gospel, and the Word does not return void (Isa 55:11).
A huge event this summer is the Cook County Jail/Chicago, IL Weekend of Champions on Saturday and Sunday, August 1-3, 2008. There are important reasons for changing the usual Friday/Saturday WOC to Saturday/Sunday and is a temporary experiment based on individual jail circumstances. Please mark your calendars now and encourage others to come as 400+ teammates are needed.
As we discussed just before leaving the jail, funds are needed in order to continue this ministry to inmates. Many of you are First Team members, as am I, and I thank you for this as well. Several events are being planned this year and your financial help would be most appreciated. Signing up for First Team can be accomplished at www.billglass.org or checks can be mailed to the ministry.
Sincerely,
Louis Korom, Jr.
