Sioux Falls, SD WOC Thank You Letter

Teammates,

The prisons where we served were scattered all over South Dakota, some as far as four hours away, but I heard not one complaint. Everyone had a true mission spirit, willing to suffer hardship for Christ’s sake. Generally, we try not to travel so far, but in a state like South Dakota where the prisons are so far apart we had no choice.

What a wonderful Weekend of Champions! 3490 inmates were incarcerated in the 12 units where we served. 573 life changing decisions were recorded, but I’m sure there were many more victories that weren’t recorded.

One in every six inmates made a commitment to Christ! Obviously, all inmates from every unit didn’t attend so the percentage of those attending was even more significant. The prison officials were very cooperative. The local team did a super job. We look forward to an even better Weekend of Champions when we return in a couple of years.

Central Baptist church furnished meals and meeting places and other churches were helping as well. We want to see even more involvement from other churches next time.
Tim Jackson our weekend director did a fine job despite the heart breaking accidental death of his son only weeks before.

Pray for us in our next great prison adventure in service of the King of Kings. We’ll be in Days of Champions this coming weekend, on August 30th in Gatesville and Bonham, TX, with the Atlanta, GA Weekend of Champions following on September 4th-6th.
