Jack Murphy’s comments about Eddie Echarri said it all … “We wouldn’t even be in Pensacola if Eddie hadn’t opened the door�. This wonderful man who loved God and all those hurting went to be with the Lord this year. Shawn Echarri being able to attend the Friday night banquet added a sentimental touch, while she was presented with a banner we all signed. Life is made of memories….
We had a record number of bikers that signed up and participated in this year’s Pensacola Weekend of Champions, and I have a renewed respect for what it takes just to arrive at the Sally Port gate. I did not know Florida got cold but cold it was. Did I say windy on Friday? I am not complaining, just admiring the dedication of our Teammates to endure the elements to share God’s love. Cold weather means warm hearts … 581 first time decisions coupled with 795 rededications give you 1376 decisions for our Lord and Savior. Pause and think about that for a moment …
157 volunteers, from different backgrounds and areas of the country, gathered and worked together sharing Christ’s hope and love to thousands of hurting people.  Sowing the Gospel seed, and seeing 1376 cry out …�I need a new life�. Simply amazing!
Reminder: Sign up for any event before January 1 and you are exempt from any registration fees. Also, if you are an active Member in First Team you are always exempt. Everyone noticed that we had a large number of “no shows�. Registration fees in 2009 are intended address this problem. People who will invest a little money will be more motivated to show up.
