Columbia, SC WOC Thank You Letter
The Columbia Weekend is a record setter for the state of South Carolina. A record number of Teammates (321), a record number of Freshmen (173) and a record number of churches supported the event resulting in 653 new names recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life and 937 rededicated lives. Praise God!
The local prayer team came to the control room each morning and prayed for the Platform Guests and Teammates to see God’s hand and feel His presence as they ministered to the inmates in the rain. This was all part of a truly great local team that prepared all year and functioned flawlessly throughout the weekend. Thank you.
Local radio station 91.9, Linda Senneker, and Columbia International College generously gave of their time and facilities to support this weekend, so be sure to thank them when you see them.
We send our thanks to Department of Corrections Commissioner John Osment and Head Chaplain Lloyd Roberts for their support in providing transportation for the weekend and encouraging words at the Friday night banquet.
Another record is the 27 new First Team Members who signed up to help support Champions for Life events in schools, prisons, and our Ring of Champions mentoring program, headed up by Rick Hipkins in Columbia.
Thank you all for making this weekend one of the most memorable events Columbia has experienced. I will quote one of our members: “You really raised the bar on this one.”
