Birmingham, AL DOC Thank You Letter

The Birmingham team, led by Jack Baker, did an outstanding job for the ministry and also announced that on April 15-17, 2010 there will be a Weekend of Champions in Birmingham, AL!

Larry and Nancy led us in worship and Tanya showed us a little bounce!  Fishers of men have divine appointments to be kept was the message associate pastor Kevin Delaney gave us Friday night.  One biker told me that “he just happened to be hangin’ around� outside Saturday before the program at the work release center and a homeless man came by…  He’s part of the Kingdom now! 

Living Water is what Jesus gave out at the well and over 100 teammates and bikers took that same Living water into four different institutions on Saturday.  The Chaplain at Jeffco told us that he was stunned by the level of peace in his jail.  Everyone came out to see Tanya in Columbiana and Bob Stubblefield told me that director Hadley wants us back again next year.

Chuck Martin tackled the problems of getting the right bikes to the right places; they’re apparently not designed to go on elevators in high rise jails but since “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us� they figured it out!

Champions for Today and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes partnered after the Day of Champions by going into local schools. Tanya Crevieran I visited 17 schools and spoke to 6910 students. One principal told us that there are 10 girls pregnant in her school and only one knows who the “father� is. The others were so high on alcohol or date rape drugs that they have no idea what happened.

There are now 7 new FCA huddles started with literally 100’s of decisions made to be drug free and part of the campus ministries! What a great way to shine the Light of Christ into dark places.
